We have been quite busy at ED and our latest (I hope) proves that. Here's a look:

Conjurer is, perhaps, our most laborious outfit yet. (With Nemesis pulling a close second, if not tying for first!)

The package includes:

I would like to send out a special 'Thank you!' to Luke Poplin, of Poplin Forge for his very gracious assistance with the ornamental staff included with this outfit. The 'holding animation' was done by myself, but the scripting is entirely thanks to Luke's kindness and scripting genius!

New Releases... FINALLY!

Okay, I'll be honest...Winter got ahold of me. I told myself it wasn't going to happen this year, but somehow it swallowed at least a month of my productivity and left me scrambling to catch up once I'd gotten my head back on straight.

The bad news is that we haven't had any new releases lately, but the good news is...three items just hit the store-front as I hammer out all the ideas that haunted me during my hiatus!

First, is a very special release. I made this with an old roleplaying character of a very dear friend in mind. We planned the outfit together, Eclipse and I, and I think it does justice to a great character! Equinox is somewhat ground-breaking, in a couple of areas crucial to the design. The veiled hood is new and interesting and the methods used to get the flexi-belt put together aren't rocket-science, but they are a bit unorthodox compared to what is usually on sale in Second Life.

So, without further adieu, Equinox:

Next on the list is a modification of a previous release that I have wanted to do forever. When we did 'Paladin', I had every intention of doing a more 'evil' version than just Paladin Dark. Life happened and here we are several months down the road....But better late than never! If anything, FALLEN is textured far better than Paladin was and much more thoroughly.

Also, this time, I used a very cool product, KKF Resizer and made the first female version ever created for a Paladin armor set!

The future is looking pretty bright. I've got all the clothing layers done for the next major release. All that's left is to cook up a few prim attachments that I have in mind for it and we'll have more goodies! *hint: the top for the new outfit is used in FALLEN Female's advertisement :P*

Hey folks! As always, I'm terrible about updating this. (Doesn't give you much hope, I know, but I'm trying!) We have some great new releases to show you. Most of these are only available at our main store location (currently), but most will find their way into applicable satellite locations very soon!

Justicar - Ebon This design was suggested to us by one of our customers and after seeing some of the concept art, we couldn't wait to design it for Second Life. Built with Eclipse exclusive sculpties, you are sure to find nothing else like it!

Our latest, latest designs have just hit the shelves. Our first stand-alone fantasy boots look great with Justicar. Again, these sculpts are exclusive to Eclipse, so you won't be seeing anyone with boots quite like yours.

Having been designing in Second Life for a little over a year now, I decided to compile all of our outfits into one big collage. Sort of a look back on things. And I decided to share it! This is only our female outfits, as I've yet to do a male lineup.

Wow! It has been an absolutely huge month for us. We have/will release 9 releases this month! 9 releases in one month!? How can it be possible?! Well, sheer force of will, mostly. But, not everything was actually -made- this month. Nemesis, for instance, which is a huge huge huge release along the same lines of our extremely popular Rogue outfit, took over a month to put together. We crafted each sculpty and textured them one at a time, to guarantee the most quality for the buck.

Rogue lovers should be pretty impressed with the way Nemesis turned out. Warden lovers will be happy to hear that we are releasing Nemesis in 2 colors: Ebon (Black) and Woodland (Brown). I do have a great deal of textures put together for a white version, but I'm not quite sure when that's going to hit the shelves.

Next up, is MERC, which we had an absolute BLAST putting together. Those of you that are more accustomed to our dark fantasy outfits might be a little surprised to find that we've released a futuristic outfit, but we've got a new saying around here: No genre is off limits. We're out to make sure that roleplayers have the most badass threads around and that includes ALL roleplayers! So, we may have a few, juicy outfits hitting for other genres, but don't worry dark fantasy/goths...We're not forgetting who's been supporting us from the beginning.

Okay, so those are up and ready now. Pretty soon we'll have female versions of all of the above. (They're just waiting on ads to be put together.) And soon we'll have a new outfit called Lethal and a white version of Cleric (due to popular demand!)

This is Bryce Randt, Lead Designer here at ED. I am absolutely terrible about updating this blog. But, I've steeled some focus and determination and so here's the latest update for Eclipse Development!

I've been wanting to do clan outfits from Vampire: The Masquerade for quite some time and finally I've had an opportunity to put the first of them together! For all you Malkavians out there, we're happy to present 'Asylum'.

When I made 'Strapped', I promised myself I'd never do such a difficult outfit ever again. It's one thing to make sure that seams are done properly on the tops, bottoms, shoulders and arms of an outfit, but something else entirely to have so -MANY- straps to line up.

Some of the straps snake around the legs, some simply go straight around the body. All the seams were extremely difficult to do, but I can't tell you how much of a help AvPainter is. It's the -reason- we can come out with the some of the amazing (in our opinion) outfits that we release.

So get your craze on, Malks.. enjoy the sculpty straight-jacket and sport those naughty outfits! A 'lite' version is going to be released, eventually, and on the cheap. It's going to be straps on skin for you kinky girls and boys out there. (Oh, and a male version is in the works. I just need to re-do the prim pieces so that they can fit some potentially bigger arms.)

Paladin was a pet project of mine for quite sometime before it was released. (Seems like that's always the way.) I found a great texture of a lion made of metal and I thought...how wicked would it be to make a lion's head out of prims? I mean.. how hard could it be? Turns out it's kind of hard, going into not really knowing just how I wanted it to look. (I didn't model it after the original lion, after all.)

But, it turned out pretty great and ended up being a shoulder piece that gave birth to a partial cloak, a bicep piece, a bracer, a belt and a couple of very wicked looking daggers. The dagger blades are sculpty prims shrunk thin and I think the contours of the prims i used work well with a blade.

The daggers are decorative, like the ones that came with Rogue. We'd love to get some scripted weapons out there, but honestly, clothes take up enough time as it is. I think we'd do it, though, if we got enough folks asking for these weapons in CCS or some comparable combat system.

Brand New! :: OBSIDIAN by Eclipse Development

Obsidian--
Sporting a longer list of attachments than nearly any other outfit released to date, Obsidian includes nearly every "staple" prim attachment. We are really excited to see what sort of response we get, especially where the new "jacket accessory" is concerned, which adds flavor to almost any jacket.

Our main store location has changed!

Believe us when we say that we certainly do not plan on changing our primary store location frequently. When we originally rented the land that housed our first main location, we were hoping for some stability and the comfort of knowing that we had our own little place in the world.

Well, nothing stays perfect forever. Our landlord wanted us moved or out and so we've actually -purchased- land now. Hopefully this will be the last time we will have to move our primary location.

Please let us apologize in advance to anyone this may confuse. After all, we are going through the lengthly and tedious process of changing allllll of our landmarks in our products currently.

Some of you will end up with dated landmarks in your inventory that no longer coincide with our primary store location. We hope you find this blog and its updates!

We are very proud to release Strapped, our most challenging outfit yet. It wasn't the amount of options available that made Strapped difficult. Rogue has more options and prim-based complexities. It was the seams!

Eclipse Development presents: Gothica

Starting to wonder if Eclipse Dev was going to release anything but kick-ass threads for real badasses? Probably not.

But we did add a little "punk" to the "ass- kickery".

The full release of Gothica sports four different color options on a classy, gothic, top with lots of lace and laces. Also matching each color, you get fabric layered atop lace in either gray or black.

Flexi, lace cuffs come along for the ride in gray or black as well.

Gothica mixes and matches really well with our other outfits. The top works well under Elite's jacket and the cuffs look tres sexy with Cleric!

Good news or bad news first?

We are going to start with the bad news first, unfortunately. At any given moment, you really don't quite know who you are speaking to when you talk to Eclipse Lykin. Why? Well, we are two designers that use one avatar for handling business affairs. This isn't any huge secret and we don't feel like it's a bad business practice.

I told you that, to tell you this: Recently, one of our two has been very ill. I wasn't going to publish this fact, but she brought up the fact that we might actually have some small readership and they deserve to know why we appear to be such a slowly churning machine. After all, we haven't released much lately. (With the exception of Gothica, which I will get to in a moment.)

Like any good partnership, when one suffers, so too does the other. (And happily so. I wish I could do more.) So we ask for your patience as we progress slowly during this time of mending. This isn't to say that we may not get out an outfit a week, or perhaps one every two weeks.. We may just. But then we may not.

Cleric

Eclipse Development is very proud to present: Cleric

Cleric presented plenty of challenges throughout its 4-day development period. This is largely due to the huge number of available combinations that are available with this one outfit. To name a few items, the package includes Jacket, Shirt, Panties, Fishnet Stockings, Leather Stockings and not to mention the special edition choker released just for this outfit.

Inspiration for the outfit came from several different places, but we the basic premise was that of a gothic-gunslinger / vampire hunter. We took an underworld death dealer style approach and added chrome accents, old-world crosses and fishnet with an emphasis on not crossing the line between "outfit" and "costume".

Three hot, new releases!

Eclipse Development is very excited to announce our first submissions to both SL Exchange and SL Boutique! Below are the ads and links, as well as a little blurb about each item.

Elite
Elite is a personal favorite of ours and includes a great deal of options in one package. Specifics on what the package includes is in the ad.

An entirely male version of Elite has been developed and will be released as soon as an ad can be generated.

Discord

Discord is another outfit with a lot of options. It is dark and semi-gothic, but a little less "Matrix" when compared to Elite. For Discord, we included shorts and underwear. Another interesting fact is that the gloves are actually arm-bands, not traditional gloves.

Jagged (Ad may not be suitable for children, or viewing at work.)

Jagged was actually inspired by a general lack of "torn up" clothing available in Second Life. Even with roleplay set aside, there's just something sexy about dingy, torn up fishnet and a little bit of attitude. We hope this will be well received by the community.

In preparation for the release of Eclipse Development's second life merchandise, this blog has been created as a means for publishing information on our various endeavors.

Currently, we are developing various different types of merchandise. Releases from Eclipse Development will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Clothing:
Cyber-Punk
Grunge
Goth
Business Casual
Lingerie
Costumes
Casual Apparel (Jeans, T-Shirts, etc.)

Furniture:
Our furniture is being developed using a compilation of web-gathered images and original "from scratch" designs, put together in Photoshop to be used for our furniture. This means that, while not all of the designs are entirely original to Eclipse, their manipulation will insure that our furniture is impossible to duplicate 100%. Our focus is unique, tasteful furniture that is relatively low prim and textured very well.

Role-play Prefabs:
There are too many various prefabs under development to properly document them. We will be releasing information on multiple role-play prefabs as they are released.

But what is an Eclipse Role-play Prefab?

Have you ever wanted to go somewhere that doesn't exist in Secondlife? Perhaps you'd like to spend the day on a tropical island, or Times' Square? What if you want to visit these places with absolute privacy? Perhaps even in your own home or five hundred meters over a random sandbox...Eclipse Role-play Prefabs are temporary, compact, adult-oriented "fantasy rooms" small enough to fit in your SL home.

In some instances, free furniture or other items that have been donated to the SL community are used in our prefabs. This drastically cuts down on development time and allows us to release more RP prefabs for your enjoyment. When necessary, these items are re-textured to suit the theme of a given RP prefab. We are very thankful to those very talented individuals, who have selflessly put in the work and time to make these items available at no cost to the community.

Each Role-play prefab will be released populated with a script system that will distribute pose balls. We've found this to be a better alternative, where possible, for prim-minded SLers. Because we understand what it's like to run frequent prim counts on property, we have taken pains to insure that the prefabs are as low prim as possible without completely detracting from aesthetics.
